To develop an affordable, replicable & sustainable model Palliative Care Service in the University

To create awareness and demand for Palliative Care in the country.

To create opportunity for education and training in palliative care for Physicians, Nurses, and the community volunteers.

Assist any individual /organization / Institution to begin and sustain a successful palliative care program in the country.

Bangladesh is a small, densely populated least developing country.

Palliative Care (PC) service is, as such, non-existent here. Some respite could be sought from the extended family support system or symptom relief is attempted to be obtained from the local doctors and traditional healers! The University is situated in Dhaka, the capital and has a 1200 bed tertiary multidisciplinary referral hospital attached to it. A nine member multidisciplinary central committee oversees the activities of the service.
