“Lack of basic understanding of Palliative Care amongst health care workers at all levels, a lack of communication skills and lack of knowledge of symptom control techniques are few of the barriers for patients getting proper attention and care.” There is very little emphasis placed on this subject in the curricula of medical schools in this country. BSMMU has a commitment to furthering the education and training of health professionals and the surrounding community. Special learning opportunities are available for physicians, nurses and community organizations.
